Have you ever been sitting with your partner, but felt like they were a million miles away?
“Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them – we can only love others as much as we love ourselves.”
As human beings, we are meant to be in relationships.
Every relationship hits a speedbump now and then. Some are small; some are large. And when your relationship hits one of those bigger speedbumps, it can feel like the struggle to repair it is insurmountable.
Do you find yourself struggling to find your connection?
Do you find yourself engaging in the same arguments over and over, never finding the resolution?
Do you feel unloved, misunderstood, or unappreciated?
Do you find yourself denying your needs, changing or hiding parts of yourself, just to remain in the relationship or keep from being alone?
Do you feel sexually disconnected from your partner?
Healthy Relationships Are Possible…
Even after feelings of disconnection appear within your relationship. We can help you rediscover your connection with your partner and aid you in living from a place of authentic love, commitment, and empowered intimacy.
Part of the journey to a healthy relationship is uncovering the patterns you both have acquired through your lives that include pain, personal struggles and fears, and learned patterns of interaction that get in the way in your current relationship.
It’s opening yourself to identifying and facing the dysfunctional patterns of interaction that served you at some point in your history. These may be sabotaging your relationship today.
Sometimes part of the struggle is that you never got the tools and skills you need to be in a successful, healthy relationship. That’s a common occurrence and part of the process in couples’ therapy.
How to Reach Your Goals as a Couple
We work collaboratively with you and your partner to identify your relationship goals and aid you in gaining the communication skills and relationship tools you need to find resolution and compromise with your partner. Through exercises to help each of you feel heard, we will teach each partner how to truly listen and understand in a way that allows your relationship to flourish and thrive.
Decreasing unnecessary and unhelpful conflict will be a primary focus. And when conflict does happen, we help partners identify how to keep conflicts calm, respectful, and productive. The couple learns how to compromise and blend individual values into common relationship values that enhance and reflect a united partnership.
If sexual intimacy is an important part of your relationship but is something that has contributed to your relational difficulties or has suffered because of them, we can address this comfortably and directly.
Sexuality can be an important part of your basic humanness and connection with your partner, as well as connection with yourself. Often, this is a relational difficulty that one or both partners keep to themselves. We help you open the lines of communication to facilitate a sexual connection that is defined by your own relationship values and desires.
See your partner in a new light –
See your partner as someone who is not your enemy, but your life partner, the person you love and seek to build your life with. We help you reach toward your partner, building trust, respect, compassion, affection, deeper understanding, and the safe haven you crave.
“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
Relationships can be healed, and connection with the one you love is possible. Your relationship can transform into one of love, appreciation, and peace. Let’s work together to build that for you and your partner.
